Developing the Next Generation of Trial Lawyers

Hannah Berghol is an Associate Attorney at Flood Law and part of the firm’s litigation team. Her legal training emphasizes courtroom advocacy, strategic preparation, and the disciplined legal analysis required to handle complex matters.

At Flood Law, Hannah supports attorneys and clients across a range of litigation matters, contributing research, case preparation, and legal analysis that help advance the firm’s mission of delivering thoughtful and effective advocacy.

Her background in competitive trial advocacy and mentorship reflects the same principles that define Flood Law’s approach to litigation: preparation, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in the courtroom.

Trial Advocacy and Legal Training

Hannah earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in May 2024 and successfully passed the Michigan Bar Exam in July 2024. While in law school, she focused heavily on trial advocacy and courtroom litigation skills. She competed in the TYLA National Trial Competition and served as Commissioner of Wayne Law’s In-House Mock Trial Team.

These roles required both advocacy and leadership. As Commissioner, Hannah helped guide the mock trial program, supporting students as they developed courtroom strategy, witness examination skills, and persuasive legal arguments. Her participation in competitive trial programs reflects a strong commitment to developing the practical courtroom skills essential for litigation practice.

Leadership and Mentorship

Beyond her own advocacy training, Hannah has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentoring future legal advocates.

During law school, she collaborated with Wayne State University to help create a high school mock trial program, designed to introduce younger students to courtroom advocacy and the legal system.

Through this program, Hannah helped teach and mentor participating students, guiding them through the fundamentals of trial practice and helping them build confidence in public speaking and legal reasoning.

This work reflects a broader commitment to expanding access to legal education and encouraging the next generation of legal professionals.

Academic Foundation

Hannah completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, graduating with honors in 2021. She earned a degree in:

  • Political Science (Pre-Law)
  • Psychology

She also completed a minor in Law, Justice, and Public Policy and was a member of the Michigan State University Honors College.

Her academic background in both political science and psychology provides valuable insight into the legal system, human behavior, and the complex interpersonal dynamics that often arise in litigation.
