Hannah Berghol

Hannah Berghol is an Associate Attorney at Flood Law PLLC and a graduate of Wayne State University Law School.

Before establishing Flood Law, Todd worked as an Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor. As a prosecutor, Todd litigated and tried various cases, including homicides, complicated fraud cases, narcotics trafficking cases, criminal sexual conduct cases and general crimes. Before leaving the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, he was promoted to Principal Attorney in charge of the Drug House Unit under Mike Duggan. While in the Drug House Unit, Todd successfully litigated against absentee landowners, including the DNR and mortgage holders, to clean up blighted houses used to sell narcotics.

Since leaving the Prosecutor’s Office, Todd has been recognized for litigating complicated civil claims, including wrongful death suits, civil rights violations and whistleblower actions. 

Todd’s work has earned him several recognitions, including Top Lawyer in the State of Michigan, A Fellow of the State Bar – an honor earned by less than one percent of the Bar – a Fellow of the Oakland County Bar, recognition from Crain’s Detroit Business as a top lawyer, multiple awards in the Super Lawyers publication, and a Lawyers Weekly Award as one of the Top Ten Lawyers of the Year in the State.

Some of Todd’s most notable work has been in courtrooms across the state. These cases include defending complicated RICO prosecutions, homicides, and corporations and individuals facing the might of the government. Todd’s experiences have also led him into the arena of conducting investigations, including matters involving companies, universities, hospitals and local municipalities.

Todd has regularly been called upon to step in to prosecute cases while in private practice, having been designated a Special Assistant Attorney General to prosecute cases in Oakland County and assist in prosecuting a pharmaceutical company.

Kevin Simowski is a former Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor with 22 years of experience. While at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Kevin was a key member of the criminal appellate and the special assignments divisions. Notably, he obtained convictions of Martell Welch for a murder on the Belle Isle Bridge in Detroit, as well as Lawrence DeLisle for first-degree murder resulting from the drowning deaths of his four children in the Detroit River. Kevin was also the architect of Wayne County’s highly successful homicide unit. Before leaving the Prosecutor’s Office, Kevin was the Chief of Staff and Chief of Operations.

In 2004, Kevin became the Chief of the Criminal Justice Bureau with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. He directed five divisions, including Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement, Corrections, Criminal, Criminal Appellate and Healthcare Fraud.

After a brief time with the Michigan AG, Kevin became the Vice President of Operations at the DMC Cardiovascular Institute and Corporate Vice President for Cardiovascular Service. Kevin spearheaded the DMC’s Accountable Care Organization, one of the nation’s first such organizations. He helped the DMC achieve external ratings by the U.S. News & World Report as one of America’s best hospitals and Leapfrog Group Top Hospitals.

Vincent Haisha is a Partner at Flood Law and a principal member of the Criminal Practice Group.  Vince specializes in drunk driving litigation and medical marijuana defense, in addition to a large variety of state and federal offenses.

For two years in a row, the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys has recognized Vince’s exceptional performance in the courtroom, naming him one of the 10 Best DUI Attorneys for Client Satisfaction.

Vince has successfully advocated for and defended clients in all District and Circuit Courts in Southeast Michigan and Monroe, Emmet, Livingston, Washtenaw, Crawford, Gaylord, Kalkaska, Ionia, and Grand Traverse Counties.  He has also argued before the Michigan Court of Appeals and prepared and filed briefs before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Vince joined Flood Law in 2010, during which time he prepared motions, briefs, and legal memoranda for a variety of complex legal issues in the criminal and appellate practice groups.

During this time, he specialized in Fourth Amendment issues regarding search and seizure and unlawful police stops. In 2012, Vincent joined the Firm’s Criminal and Appellate Divisions, aggressively litigated, and helped overturn several wrongful convictions.

Vince is a University of Michigan graduate and earned his law degree from Wayne State University.

Allexa is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2024 and passed the July 2024 Bar Exam. During law school, Allexa served as Executive Article Editor for the Journal of Law in Society and was a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistant. Allexa completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, graduating with honors in Criminal Justice while also earning minors in Law, Justice, and Public Policy, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. As an undergraduate, Allexa participated in the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, which brings traditional college students and incarcerated individuals together through collaboration and dialogue to explore issues of crime and justice across profound social barriers.

Katherine is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she graduated cum laude, and then passed the July 2024 Bar Exam. While at UDM Law, she was the president of the Environmental Law Society and a member of the St. Thomas More Society. She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate education, majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy at the James Madison College. At MSU, Katherine was a member of the Honor’s College and was a consultant at the MSU Writing Center. Outside of legal work, Katherine is a certified tennis professional and an Alpine Ski Patroller, as well as the Vice President of the Grosse Ile Nature and Land Conservancy, where she is the editor of the nonprofit’s newsletter.

Hannah is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2024 and successfully passed the Michigan Bar Exam in July 2024. During law school, she competed in the TYLA National Trial Competition and served as Commissioner of Wayne Law’s In-House Mock Trial Team.

Hannah also collaborated with the university to help create a high school mock trial program and has played an active role in teaching and mentoring participating students.

She completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in 2021, graduating with honors in Political Science Pre-Law and Psychology, along with a minor in Law, Justice, and Public Policy. While at MSU, she was a member of the Honors College.
